In a powerful display of cross-continental cooperation, the NEO Royal Executive Club (NREC) participated in the prestigious Abu Dhabi Culture Summit 2025, joining a distinguished South African delegation for a series of high-level dialogues focused on cultural diplomacy and institutional collaboration.

Held annually, the Abu Dhabi Culture Summit convenes thought leaders, ministers, creatives, and executives to explore how culture can serve as a catalyst for inclusive development, diplomacy, and innovation. This year’s summit highlighted the role of African leadership in shaping global narratives.

The South African delegation was led by representatives of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government, Ethekwini Municipality, and African Global Networks, including:

  • MEC Thembeni kaMadlopha-Mthethwa – Minister for Agriculture & Rural Development
  • Dr. Thobile Sifunda – Head of Department, Sport, Arts & Culture
  • Mr. Musa Mbhele – City Manager, Ethekwini Municipality
  • Mr. Wiseman Mkhize – Executive Chairman, African Global Networks

Representing NREC was Dr. Emily Mogano, Managing Director of the Club, who joined the delegation to reinforce NREC’s commitment to global connectivity, cultural exchange, and leadership alignment.

“We believe in culture as a force for unifying visionaries across borders,” said Dr. Mogano.

“This summit presented an extraordinary opportunity to strengthen South Africa–UAE relations and build meaningful bridges between public leadership and the private sector.”

The sessions attended by the delegation focused on creative diplomacy, cultural entrepreneurship, and multilateral collaboration. NREC’s participation emphasized the importance of executive clubs in enabling dialogue beyond traditional business—bridging policy, purpose, and cultural legacy.

As the Club continues its mission to serve as a platform for influential leaders, its presence at the Culture Summit underscores its broader role in shaping international dialogue and values-driven engagement.
